Coming in 2025

Full of humor, poignancy, nostalgia, and a touch of magic, A Song for the Wild at Heart is a must read for anybody who believes we can discover our true selves at any age.

When Everly’s mother dies and her sister Julie is killed in car accident a few weeks later, Everly discovers that her much older, famous singer/songwriter sister, Julie, was really her mother, and the woman Everly thought was her mother was her grandmother. Her mom Julie had left home at seventeen, only coming back long enough to drop Everly on the doorstop and leave. But if Julie was her mom, who was her dad?

Everly, in the midst of a mid-life crisis that includes a nasty divorce and a college freshman daughter with an unplanned pregnancy, inherits Julie’s Nashville estate. When Everly unearths a box of keepsakes, she pulls together the pieces of how her teenage mom left upstate New York and ended up living in California with Declan Quinn, lead singer and driving force of the legendary rock group Salvation Alley. For decades, rumors and conspiracy theories have surrounded Quinn’s untimely death. The missing tapes from Salvation Alley’s last album have long been rumored to contain some of the best songs ever written, and Quinn was considered a musical genius whose life was tragically cut short. Was Declan Quinn Everly’s real father?

Someone breaks into Julie’s house and searches through boxes of memorabilia, and it seems they were looking for something rooted in Julie’s past with Declan Quinn. Everly decides to travel to Laurel Canyon, California, home to a vibrant, legendary music scene in the 1970s, to find out about the time her mom spent there. If Everly can discover the truth about Julie’s past and Quinn Declan’s death, maybe she can find herself, too.
